If you like to see the inside of phones more than what they look like on the outside, this type of video is definitely for you. Being a foldable device, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is even more intriguing than a standard slab phone, and Samsung has also claimed to have redesigned the hinge. Is this true? See for yourself in the video.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4's flexible inner screen is made up of a few different layers, all of which are exposed during the teardown process, at the cost of the display never working again - since it may be okay to fold in one direction, but it definitely doesn't like being folded in the other. There's also a new metal plate under the display assembly and a new cutout for the camera under the display.
The glass of the outer display is inlaid into a metal frame that makes it very difficult to remove without destroying it, and after unscrewing dozens of screws, all the internal components are accessible once the displays are gone. The batteries are held in place with large amounts of glue, and there are no pull tabs, making battery removal and replacement more of a chore than it needs to be.
